Getting here from West LA
Most of West LA is 2 to 4 miles from our office. The usual routes:
- The 405 south to the Venice Blvd exit, then west into Mar Vista. Fast when the freeway moves, slow when it does not.
- Sepulveda Blvd south to Venice Blvd. A reliable surface street alternative.
- Bundy Dr or Centinela Ave south from the Olympic and Pico corridors, crossing straight into Mar Vista.
By rail, the Metro E Line stops at Expo/Sepulveda and Expo/Bundy along the southern edge of West LA. From there, connect to a bus heading south to Venice Blvd, where Metro bus line 33 runs past our office. Check a trip planner for current options.
Testing that fits a workday
If you work in West LA, you can test on the way to or from work, or during a lunch break. Because testing is by appointment, someone is ready for you when you arrive. On a random program, you receive an electronic notice telling you when to report, and our office hours, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, line up with a typical workday. Outside those hours, we can arrange testing at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.
If leaving work is the problem, mobile testing at your workplace or home is available for an additional fee.
For employers in West LA
West LA employers sometimes need non DOT testing, most often for return to work agreements after an employee completes treatment. We can provide scheduled or random testing with one point of contact, and results shared only with people the employee authorizes in writing. We do not perform DOT regulated testing.
If you are in recovery
Random testing can add structure in the months after treatment, and a clean record can help rebuild trust at home. Our ongoing monitoring program pairs testing with a coordinator who knows you and can connect you to more support if things get hard. SAMHSA’s clinical guide TAP 32 explains why the timing of tests matters: most drugs are detectable in urine for a matter of days, so random schedules reveal more than predictable ones.
Tests available to West LA clients
- 12 panel urine drug test for common drug classes, with results in minutes.
- EtG alcohol test for drinking over recent days, and a breathalyzer for alcohol right now.
- Saliva testing on request, in person.
- Partner laboratory confirmation for positives, and chain of custody documentation when needed.
Bring a photo ID and a list of your medications to every test. Some prescriptions can show on a screen, and knowing about them up front means results are read correctly and fairly.
Cost and booking
Our testing is low cost. Your total depends on the tests, frequency, mobile visits and whether lab confirmation or written reports are needed. Call to set up a plan. See directions or all areas we serve.
Need more than testing?
Monitoring is the first step, not the last. If a result or a hard week tells you more help is needed, Blackburn can connect you to it.
