Drug and alcohol testing in Mar Vista

Mar Vista is our home neighborhood. Our office sits on Venice Blvd, the street that runs through the middle of Mar Vista, between the 405 and Lincoln Blvd. For many neighbors that means a test fits into a lunch break, a school drop off or a walk to the store.

Getting to us from anywhere in Mar Vista

Most of Mar Vista is within about 1 to 2 miles of the office. From the hill area north of Venice Blvd or the flats to the south, a drive usually takes a few minutes outside rush hour. Venice Blvd, Centinela Ave, Inglewood Blvd and Grand View Blvd are the streets most neighbors use. Metro bus line 33 runs along Venice Blvd for anyone who prefers not to drive, and neighbors can walk or bike.

Being close matters more than it sounds. Random testing only works if reporting is easy. When the testing location is part of your normal routine, it is much easier to show up every time you are notified, and a consistent record is what builds trust with family, clinicians and attorneys.

Why a local testing partner helps

Being nearby lets us know clients as people, not just sample numbers. A monitoring coordinator sets up your plan, sends electronic notices when it is time to test, and is the person you call if your schedule changes or a result is hard to hear. Our staff are experienced in mental health and substance use.

Office, off hours or at home

Office testing runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, by appointment only. If you need a test outside those hours, we can arrange it at other Blackburn locations on the Westside. Mobile testing at your home or workplace is available for an additional fee, though for most Mar Vista neighbors the office is close enough that it is not needed.

Tests available to Mar Vista clients

• 12 panel urine drug test for common drug classes, with results in minutes.
• EtG alcohol test for drinking over recent days, and a breathalyzer for alcohol right now.
• Saliva testing on request, in person.
• Partner laboratory confirmation for positives, and chain of custody documentation when needed.

Bring a photo ID and a list of your medications to every test. Some prescriptions can show on a screen, and knowing about them up front means results are read correctly and fairly.

Cost and getting started

Our testing is low cost. What you pay depends on the tests you choose, how often you test, whether lab confirmation or written reports are needed and whether you use mobile testing.
