Drug and alcohol testing near San Marino
In short
Blackburn Monitoring serves San Marino residents from our office at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, about 22 miles away. We offer discreet, low cost drug and alcohol testing with a real coordinator, and results go only to people you authorize in writing.
San Marino is a small residential city between Pasadena, South Pasadena and San Gabriel, with no freeway running through it. We do not have an office in San Marino. Families here tend to care about privacy above all, and that is how we work: one coordinator, written consent, and nothing shared without it.

Getting to us from San Marino
Most people take surface streets south to the I-10 west, or head to the CA-110 Arroyo Seco Parkway through downtown and then the I-10 west. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 35 to 50 minutes, longer at peak times. Metro A Line stations in nearby South Pasadena and Pasadena connect to downtown, but reaching Mar Vista by transit takes transfers.
San Marino and the courts
San Marino has its own police department. Cases from this area are often heard in the Superior Court’s Northeast District, which includes the Pasadena and Alhambra courthouses. Check your paperwork for your courthouse. We provide chain of custody documentation when needed.
Families in San Marino
San Marino Unified School District serves the city’s public schools. Parents of teens and of college students home on break often call us first, wanting a clear and fair way to address a worry without it becoming a family fight.
Testing options
There is no one size plan. People from San Marino usually start with one of these:
- One-time testing. A single scheduled test when you need an answer now.
- Random testing program. You are notified when to report, so tests cannot be planned around. See our random drug testing program.
- Ongoing monitoring. A coordinator who knows you, a schedule that can change as things improve, and results shared only with people you authorize in writing. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
- Court ordered testing. Court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when it is needed.
Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that covers common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, fentanyl testing, an EtG alcohol test, a breathalyzer, and saliva testing on request. Positives that will be acted on are confirmed by partner laboratories. Bring a photo ID to intake. Observed collection is used when a court, program or agreement requires it. Compare everything on our services page.
Mobile testing
Mobile testing at a home or workplace is offered for an additional fee. San Marino is a long way from our Westside office, so mobile testing may be available in your area; call to ask before you plan around it. Outside office hours, testing can also be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.

Common questions
Will anyone in San Marino know my family is testing?
Not from us. Results go only to people the person being tested authorizes in writing.
Which courthouse covers San Marino?
Often a Northeast District courthouse, such as Pasadena or Alhambra. Your court notice lists the exact location.
Is the Arroyo Seco Parkway a good route from San Marino?
It can be, especially from the north side of town. The I-10 is more direct from the south. Check traffic before you go.
Can a college student home in San Marino test over a break?
Yes. An adult student signs a release that names who receives results, such as a parent.
