Drug and alcohol testing near Calabasas
In short
Blackburn Monitoring serves Calabasas residents by appointment at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, about 24 miles away. We provide private, low cost drug and alcohol testing, from a single test to ongoing monitoring, with results shared only with people you authorize in writing.
Calabasas sits in the hills along the US-101, between the San Fernando Valley and the Santa Monica Mountains. We do not have a Calabasas office. For many families and professionals here, the bigger concern is privacy, and that is where we focus: one coordinator, written consent for every person who sees a result, and nothing shared without it.

Getting to us from Calabasas
Most people take the US-101 east to the I-405 south, then exit near Venice Blvd. Outside rush hour that is roughly 30 to 40 minutes. The I-405 through the Sepulveda Pass can double that at peak times. Some people prefer Malibu Canyon Road or Topanga Canyon Blvd down to the Pacific Coast Highway, which can be a pleasant drive but is rarely faster and can close for weather or fire.
Calabasas and the courts
Calabasas is home to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lost Hills Station, which serves the city and its neighbors. After the Malibu Courthouse closed, misdemeanor and felony cases from this area were generally moved to the Van Nuys Courthouse. Your case could be assigned elsewhere, so check your paperwork or ask your attorney. We provide chain of custody documentation when needed.
Families and professionals
Almost all of Calabasas is served by the Las Virgenes Unified School District. Parents of teens and of college students home for a break are among the families we help. We also work with licensed professionals who need testing that fits a demanding schedule and stays confidential.
Testing options
Every plan starts with a phone call and a real person. Here is what Calabasas clients can set up:
- One-time testing. A single scheduled test when you need an answer now.
- Random testing program. You are notified when to report, so tests cannot be planned around. See our random drug testing program.
- Ongoing monitoring. A coordinator who knows you, a schedule that can change as things improve, and results shared only with people you authorize in writing. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
- Court ordered testing. Court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when it is needed.
Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that covers common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, fentanyl testing, an EtG alcohol test, a breathalyzer, and saliva testing on request. Positives that will be acted on are confirmed by partner laboratories. Bring a photo ID to intake. Observed collection is used when a court, program or agreement requires it. Compare everything on our services page.
Mobile testing
Mobile testing at a home or workplace is offered for an additional fee. Calabasas is a long way from our Westside office, so mobile testing may be available in your area; call to ask before you plan around it. Outside office hours, testing can also be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.

Common questions
Can testing for a Calabasas professional stay confidential?
Yes. Results go only to the people you authorize in writing, such as a monitoring program, an attorney or a clinician. Nobody else is told you test with us.
Where are Calabasas criminal cases usually heard?
Since the Malibu Courthouse closed, they have generally gone to the Van Nuys Courthouse. Check your paperwork, because assignments can differ.
Is Malibu Canyon Road a good way to reach your office from Calabasas?
It works, but it is usually slower than the US-101 and I-405, and it can close in bad weather or during fires. Check conditions before you go.
Can my college student test with you over winter break in Calabasas?
Yes. Many families set up a few tests during a break, and adult students decide in writing who receives their results.
