Drug and alcohol testing near Duarte
In short
Blackburn Monitoring tests by appointment at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, roughly 35 miles from Duarte. We offer one-time tests, random testing programs, ongoing monitoring and court ordered testing with chain of custody, all with a real person who knows your case.
Duarte is a foothill city in the San Gabriel Valley, between Monrovia, Bradbury, Irwindale and Azusa, with the I-210 running through it and its own Metro A Line station. Duarte clients usually weigh the long drive to the Westside against mobile testing.

Getting to us from Duarte
From Duarte, our office is roughly 35 miles away. Many drivers take the I-605 south to the I-10 west, then the I-405 south to the Venice Blvd exit. Outside rush hour, plan on about an hour; peak traffic can stretch that a long way.
Duarte’s Metro A Line station sits near the I-210. The A Line runs through downtown Los Angeles to 7th St/Metro Center, where you can transfer to the E Line west and then take a Venice Blvd bus to Mar Vista. Plan for a long ride and check Metro’s trip planner.
Duarte schools and families
Duarte students are served by the Duarte Unified School District. Families who come to us are usually worried about a teen, a young adult, or an adult child who has been through treatment before. Testing with a third party takes the parent out of the role of enforcer. See talking to your adult child about testing.
Testing options for Duarte clients
- One-time tests. A single drug or alcohol test by appointment, when you need an answer now.
- Random testing program. An electronic notice tells you when to test, so results mean something. See our random drug testing program.
- Ongoing monitoring. A schedule set case by case with a monitoring coordinator who knows you. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
- Court ordered testing. Testing for courts, probation, attorneys and diversion, with chain of custody documentation when needed.
Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that screens for common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, testing for fentanyl, a breathalyzer, an EtG alcohol test and saliva testing on request. Bring a photo ID to your first visit. Collection is observed when a court or program requires it, and positives that will be acted on go to partner laboratories for confirmation. See all services.
Court ordered testing for Duarte cases
Duarte is in the San Gabriel Valley, and your case may be handled at a courthouse in the Northeast or East District; check your paperwork for the courthouse and department. If a court, probation officer or attorney requires testing, we provide court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when needed.
If your Duarte case comes with a testing order, ask your attorney or probation officer before the first test whether a specific vendor or format is required. Read more about court ordered drug testing.
Mobile testing in Duarte
For a random program, a long drive can make it hard to test on the day you are notified. Mobile testing at home or work is offered for an additional fee, and mobile testing may be available in your area; call to ask. Office testing runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, by appointment only, and outside those hours testing can be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.
Who we help in Duarte
We help Duarte families of adults and teens, people in recovery building a track record, licensed professionals in monitoring programs, and people with court or attorney requirements.
Clinicians and treatment programs can also refer clients, and with written consent we send results quickly to the people you choose and no one else. Nearby, we also serve Bradbury and Irwindale; see every area we serve.
Need more than testing?
Duarte is a long drive from the Westside, yet the support that can follow a test is only a phone call away. Testing is where many people start, not where they finish, and your coordinator can help with the next step when it is time.

Common questions
Is the Duarte A Line station a practical way to reach you?
It works, but it is a long trip with a transfer to the E Line downtown and a bus on Venice Blvd. Driving is usually faster, or ask whether mobile testing may be available.
Which school district serves Duarte?
The Duarte Unified School District serves the city's public schools.
Can my adult child in Duarte choose who sees results?
Yes. An adult signs a written release naming each person who can receive results, and can change it later.
How should I plan a drive from Duarte for a random test?
Allow about an hour outside rush hour on the I-605 and I-10, and more at peak times. If timing is a problem, ask about mobile testing.
