Drug and alcohol testing near Manhattan Beach

In short

Blackburn Monitoring is about 9 miles north of Manhattan Beach, at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista. Manhattan Beach residents can test by appointment Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, or ask about mobile testing at home or work for an additional fee.

Manhattan Beach is a coastal South Bay city between El Segundo and Hermosa Beach. It is one of the closer cities to our office outside the Westside, which makes regular testing practical. We do not have an office in Manhattan Beach, but the drive is manageable most of the day.

Getting to us from Manhattan Beach

Most people take Sepulveda Blvd north or the I-405 north to Venice Blvd. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 20 to 30 minutes. Lincoln Blvd through Westchester and Playa Vista is another option. By transit, Metro K Line stations at Douglas and Mariposa sit just north of the city in El Segundo; reaching Mar Vista from there takes transfers, so check Metro’s trip planner.

Manhattan Beach and the courts

Manhattan Beach has its own police department. Cases from the beach cities are often heard at the Torrance Courthouse in the Superior Court’s Southwest District, though some matters go elsewhere, so check your paperwork. We offer court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when needed.

Families and professionals

Manhattan Beach Unified School District serves the city’s public schools. Many calls from here come from parents of teens and from licensed professionals who need confidential testing that fits a busy schedule. Results go only to people you authorize in writing.

Testing options

Every plan starts with a phone call and a real person. Here is what Manhattan Beach clients can set up:

  • One-time testing. A single scheduled test when you need an answer now.
  • Random testing program. You are notified when to report, so tests cannot be planned around. See our random drug testing program.
  • Ongoing monitoring. A coordinator who knows you, a schedule that can change as things improve, and results shared only with people you authorize in writing. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
  • Court ordered testing. Court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when it is needed.

Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that covers common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, fentanyl testing, an EtG alcohol test, a breathalyzer, and saliva testing on request. Positives that will be acted on are confirmed by partner laboratories. Bring a photo ID to intake. Observed collection is used when a court, program or agreement requires it. Compare everything on our services page.

Mobile testing

Manhattan Beach is close to the Westside, so if the drive does not fit your day, mobile testing at your home or workplace is offered for an additional fee. Call to confirm scheduling for your address. Outside office hours, testing can be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.

  • Treatment programs and clinicians who want objective results between sessions. See our page for clinicians.

More support when you need it

Manhattan Beach is only a short drive down the coast from our office, so more support is never far. If testing alone turns out not to be enough, your coordinator can connect you with the rest of Blackburn.
