From the Marina to Venice Blvd
The simplest route is Lincoln Blvd north to Venice Blvd, then east into Mar Vista. Washington Blvd east to Centinela Ave or Inglewood Blvd, then north, also works well and avoids the busiest stretch of Lincoln. Total distance is roughly 2 to 3 miles depending on where you start. By transit, buses on Lincoln Blvd connect to Venice Blvd, where Metro bus line 33 stops near our office.
A county community
Marina del Rey is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County rather than part of a city, so public safety comes from the county sheriff and other services come from county agencies. Court matters go through the county’s courthouses. If testing is part of a legal requirement, we offer court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when needed. Check with your attorney whether a specific vendor or format is required first.
Alcohol monitoring for Marina residents
Drinking is often part of the worry. A breath test only shows alcohol right now, because the body clears it within hours. For a fuller picture, we pair breath testing with an EtG test, which looks back over recent days. Mayo Clinic Laboratories also notes that incidental exposure, such as alcohol based hand sanitizer or mouthwash, can produce detectable EtG (Mayo Clinic Laboratories), so we give every EtG client a short list of products to avoid and read low level results with care.
If drinking is the main concern, our comparison of remote breathalyzers and in person testing explains the trade offs.
Mobile and off hours testing
For residents who work from home, care for family or value privacy, mobile testing at your home or workplace is available for an additional fee. Outside office hours, we can arrange testing at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.
Who testing can help in the Marina
Spouses and partners worried about drinking. Parents of young adults living nearby. People who have finished treatment and want structure. Clinicians who want objective results between sessions. Whoever you are, results are shared quickly and only with the people you authorize in writing, and a coordinator is there to explain them.
Tests available to Marina del Rey clients
- 12 panel urine drug test for common drug classes, with results in minutes.
- EtG alcohol test for drinking over recent days, and a breathalyzer for alcohol right now.
- Saliva testing on request, in person.
- Partner laboratory confirmation for positives, and chain of custody documentation when needed.
Bring a photo ID and a list of your medications to every test. Some prescriptions can show on a screen, and knowing about them up front means results are read correctly and fairly.
Cost and next steps
Our testing is low cost. Your total depends on the tests, frequency, mobile visits and whether lab confirmation or written reports are needed. See directions and what to bring, or all areas we serve.
Need more than testing?
Monitoring is the first step, not the last. If a result or a hard week tells you more help is needed, Blackburn can connect you to it.

Common questions
How far is your office from Marina del Rey?
Roughly 2 to 3 miles by road, usually 10 to 15 minutes via Lincoln Blvd or Washington Blvd outside rush hour.
Can my spouse get my alcohol test results?
Yes, if you authorize it in writing. Results go only to the people you name.
Do you give a list of products to avoid before EtG?
Yes. Mayo Clinic Laboratories notes incidental exposure from hand sanitizer and mouthwash can produce detectable EtG, so we give EtG clients a list of products to avoid.
Is Marina del Rey part of the City of Los Angeles?
No. It is an unincorporated area of Los Angeles County. That does not change how testing with us works.
