Getting to us from West Covina
Most people take the I-10 west the whole way to the Westside. Outside rush hour, plan on roughly 45 to 60 minutes, and much longer at peak times. Foothill Transit buses serve the city, and Metrolink’s San Bernardino Line stops in nearby Baldwin Park and Covina, but reaching Mar Vista by transit takes several connections.
West Covina and the courts
The West Covina Courthouse, in the Superior Court’s East District, is in the city. Many local cases are heard there, but check your paperwork, since some matters are assigned to other East District courthouses. If testing is ordered, we offer chain of custody documentation when needed.
Families in West Covina
West Covina is served by several public school districts, including West Covina Unified and Covina-Valley Unified. Parents of teens and young adults often call us to understand their options first.
Testing options
There is no one size plan. People from West Covina usually start with one of these:
- One-time testing. A single scheduled test when you need an answer now.
- Random testing program. You are notified when to report, so tests cannot be planned around. See our random drug testing program.
- Ongoing monitoring. A coordinator who knows you, a schedule that can change as things improve, and results shared only with people you authorize in writing. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
- Court ordered testing. Court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when it is needed.
Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that covers common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, fentanyl testing, an EtG alcohol test, a breathalyzer, and saliva testing on request. Positives that will be acted on are confirmed by partner laboratories. Bring a photo ID to intake. Observed collection is used when a court, program or agreement requires it. Compare everything on our services page.
Mobile testing
Mobile testing at a home or workplace is offered for an additional fee. West Covina is a long way from our Westside office, so mobile testing may be available in your area; call to ask before you plan around it. Outside office hours, testing can also be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.
