Drug and alcohol testing near the City of Industry
In short
Blackburn Monitoring serves people who work in or near the City of Industry from our office at 12326 Venice Blvd in Mar Vista, roughly 30 miles west. We offer non DOT testing, random programs, ongoing monitoring and court ordered testing, all by appointment.
The City of Industry is mostly a place of work, not a place people live. The 2020 census counted only a few hundred residents, while thousands of businesses operate along the CA-60 corridor. Testing connected to Industry often involves work: an employee returning after treatment, a personal commitment to testing, or a legal requirement. We do not have an office in Industry.

Getting to us from Industry
Most people take the CA-60 west to the I-605 north and then the I-10 west, or stay on the CA-60 toward downtown and continue west. Outside rush hour, plan on about 45 to 60 minutes, and more at peak times. Metrolink trains on the Riverside Line stop at the City of Industry station, though reaching Mar Vista by rail and bus takes several connections.
Courts serving the area
Industry contracts with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Cases from this part of the San Gabriel Valley are often handled in the Superior Court’s East District, which includes the West Covina, El Monte and Pomona courthouses. Your case may be assigned elsewhere, so check your paperwork. We offer chain of custody documentation when needed.
Workers and employers
We provide non DOT testing, including return to work agreements, with a single point of contact and results shared only with people the employee authorizes in writing. We do not perform DOT regulated testing. Families who live in the surrounding communities are served by several districts, including Hacienda La Puente Unified and Rowland Unified.
Testing options
There is no one size plan. People from Industry usually start with one of these:
- One-time testing. A single scheduled test when you need an answer now.
- Random testing program. You are notified when to report, so tests cannot be planned around. See our random drug testing program.
- Ongoing monitoring. A coordinator who knows you, a schedule that can change as things improve, and results shared only with people you authorize in writing. Learn about drug and alcohol monitoring.
- Court ordered testing. Court ordered testing with chain of custody documentation when it is needed.
Tests include a 12 panel urine drug test that covers common substances such as opioids, stimulants, benzodiazepines and cannabis, fentanyl testing, an EtG alcohol test, a breathalyzer, and saliva testing on request. Positives that will be acted on are confirmed by partner laboratories. Bring a photo ID to intake. Observed collection is used when a court, program or agreement requires it. Compare everything on our services page.
Mobile testing
Mobile testing at a home or workplace is offered for an additional fee. The City of Industry is a long way from our Westside office, so mobile testing may be available in your area; call to ask before you plan around it. Outside office hours, testing can also be arranged at other Blackburn locations on the Westside.
Who we help
Testing from Industry usually involves one of these situations:
- Families of adults and teens who want clear answers without becoming the police at home.
- People with court, probation, diversion or attorney requirements. Attorneys can start on our page for attorneys.
- Licensed professionals under monitoring, such as doctors, nurses, lawyers and pilots.
- Treatment programs and clinicians who want objective results between sessions. See our page for clinicians.
More support when you need it
Industry is mostly a place of work rather than a place to live, and a result that points to a bigger need should not cost someone their footing on the job. When more help makes sense, Blackburn has it.
